TAKEN AWAY FROM ME.....so quickly.

On losing you , Dear Rishab, whom I grew to love so much in such short span of time.
I'm sitting here in my room, looking at your picture.
Wondering why you couldn't be a part of my future.
Uncontrollable tears stream down my face,
while my heart beat starts to race.
Asking God why he took you from my life,
T’was more painful than stabbing me with a knife.
Since the day, I had entered this family,
You were the one who bonded with me so strongly.
This gelling made me feel so close to you,
That with your demise, a part of me has died too.
Seeing you lie in that pathetic state,
How helpless I felt to just watch and wait.
Had never known the pain of losing someone you love,
Until the day you were sent to heaven above.
I miss you more with each passing day,
but all I can do is constantly pray.
That please God provide him a better place,
Where his soul shall find happiness and true solace .
In my heart your memory shall forever remain.
Till the day dawns when we meet again.

A NAIVE ATTEMPT
This is one from a small collection selected from the vast total of world renowned poets' verses. The selection is purely subjective, reflecting my own personal favorites and whims.
It has often been observed that Goethe's poetry is difficult to properly translate, but T.S. Eliot, W.H. Auden, and others—have attempted to translate Goethe into English with varying degrees of success.
This is just a puny firsthand attempt of mine at poetic Hindi translations and choosing a veteren poet like J.W. Goethe is an impromptu decision.Alongwith the original work in German and rhyming Hindi translation of mine, literal prose translations and poetic English translations from established poets in this field is also being given, side by side.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe(1749-1832)
Biographical Summary
The German novelist, poet, playwright, and scientist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was born in Frankfurt am Main on August 28, 1749.Goethe (GUEH-tah) is a giant in German and world literature. In fact, he coined the term Weltliteratur and spoke Greek, Latin, French, English and Italian. Aside from its quality, the sheer volume of work during his 82-year lifetime is impressive. Among other works, Goethe wrote a worldwide, best-selling novel (Die Leiden des Jungen Werthers, 1774), volumes of poetry, and several dramas, including his masterwork: Faust — a massive two-volume work that was not entirely finished by the time of the poet's death. Goethe also dabbled in painting and science ("Farbenlehre"/"Theory of Color"), although his greatest achievements by far were in literature.
Gefunden
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Ich ging im Walde
So für mich hin,
Und nichts zu suchen,
Das war mein Sinn.
Im Schatten sah ich
Ein Blümchen stehn,
Wie Sterne leuchtend
Wie Äuglein schön.
Ich wollt es brechen,
Da sagt' es fein:
Soll ich zum Welken,
Gebrochen sein?
Ich grubs mit allen
Den Würzeln aus,
Zum Garten trug ichs
Am hübschen Haus.
Und pflanzt es wieder
Am stillen Ort;
Nun zweigt es immer
Und blüht so fort.
Found
Literal Prose Translation: Hyde Flippo

I was walking in the woods
Just on a whim of mine,
And seeking nothing,
That was my intention.
In the shade I saw
A little flower standing
Like stars glittering
Like beautiful little eyes.
I wanted to pick it
When it said delicately:
Should I just to wilt
Be picked?
I dug it out with all
Its little roots.
To the garden I carried it
By the lovely house.
And replanted it
In this quiet spot;
Now it keeps branching out
And blossoms ever forth.

Rhyming Verse Translation : E.A. Bowring (1815)

Once through the forest
Alone I went;
To seek for nothing
My thoughts were bent.
I saw i' the shadow
A flower stand there
As stars it glisten'd,
As eyes 'twas fair.
I sought to pluck it,—
It gently said:
“Shall I be gather'd
Only to fade?”
With all its roots
I dug it with care,
And took it home
To my garden fair.
In silent corner
Soon it was set;
There grows it ever,
There blooms it yet.

BEAUTY CONTEST

Just read this story from CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE WOMAN'S SOUL and felt an ardent urge to share the Beauty in this....................
A successful beauty company asked the people in a large city to send brief letters about the most beautiful women they knew, along with the women’s pictures. Within a few weeks, thousands of letters were delivered to the company.
One letter in particular caught the attention of the employees, and soon it was handed to the company president. The letter was written by a young boy, who wrote he was from a broken home, living in a run-down neighborhood. With spelling corrections, an excerpt from his letter read:
A beautiful woman lives down the street from me. I visit her every day. She makes me feel like the most important kid in the world. We play checkers and she listens to my problems. she understand me and when I leave, she always yells out the door that she’s proud of me.
The boy ended his letter by saying, “This picture shows you that she is the most beautiful woman. I hoe I have a wife as pretty as her.”
Intrigued by the letter, the president asked to see this woman’s picture. His secretary handed him a photograph of a smiling, toothless woman, well-advance in years, sitting in a wheelchair. Sparse gray hair was pulled back in a bun and wrinkles that formed deep furrows on her face were somehow diminished by the twinkle in her eyes.
We can’t use this woman,” explained the president, smiling. “She would show the world that our products aren’t necessary to be beautiful.”

SOMETHING TO PROVE

I know,I don’t have anything to lose

I don’t get the respect I deserve,

So I guess have something to prove

So I guess it’s all or nothing

Iam going to stand my ground,

I am not going to fall for nothing

Like a lion in the jungle,I will be so fearless

Started out at the bottom,I will do it all by myself

I will rise to the top,The bottom is so dark and lonely,

Though the only light guiding me is like the light of fire flies

But i am sure for the sun to come up

And then it would finally be my time,To shine.

PHENOMENAL WOMAN

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,They think I'm telling lies.
I say,It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,That's me.
I walk into a room Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,A hive of honey bees.
I say,It's the fire in my eyes,And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,That's me.
Men themselves have wondered What they see in me.
They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery.
When I try to show them They say they still can't see.
I say,It's in the arch of my back,The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,The grace of my style.
I'm a woman Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,That's me.
Now you understandJust why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump aboutOr have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing It ought to make you proud.
I say,It's in the click of my heels,The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a womanPhenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,That's me.
